Cul-De-Canard: These unique feathers deserve a place in every tier’s arsenal.  Each fiber has thousands of tiny barbules, which naturally trap and hold air bubbles.  When used on caddis, mayflies and emerger's, the fibers flex and move, refracting light, much like parts of real insects.
